Volunteering

Parent volunteers play an essential role in organizing and chaperoning many school activities, including fundraising and social events, hot lunch, sports day, crossing guards, International liaisons, class reps, field trips, and PAC Committee members. Volunteering is also a great way to meet other parents and make a valuable contribution to the school community.

We know families are busy and finding time to volunteer is challenging. We have many opportunities to volunteer throughout the year that can fit all schedules, with time commitments varying from just a few hours to ongoing responsibilities. If you are new to the school, please join in!

For more info about volunteer opportunities at Canyon Heights, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator. volunteer@canyonheights-pac.ca

Our Class Rep network plays an important role in facilitating the building of our school community and promoting a positive school spirit at Canyon Heights. The role includes :

  • Communicating any ideas & suggestions from class parents to the PAC Executive
  • Forwarding PAC emails to class parents via the confidential email system
  • Facilitating the flow of information from PAC meetings to class parents
  • We also encourage the role to include activities that foster our school spirit and for Class Reps to be champions of the school Code of Conduct (Respect, Responsibility, Safety)
The types of activities that Class Reps can help facilitate include:
  • Help organize school-wide social events with other Class Reps
  • Help welcome new families
