Canyon Heights PAC activities are coordinated by an elected Committee, which is made up of parent volunteers. We currently have some open positions on the Committee and are always happy to welcome new members. Please contact our PAC Chair, Kathryn Orde, if you would like to volunteer for a position.
Chair Kathryn Orde email@example.com The PAC Chair leads the PAC Executive and ensures that PAC activities are aligned with achieving PAC’s objectives and purposes, as well as providing direction and liaising with parents, staff and school administrators. The Chair acts as the spokesperson for the PAC and presides at all PAC and executive committee meetings.

Co-Treasurers Sanaz Niknami Sarah Ross email@example.com The Co-Treasurers prepare and maintain financial records, perform banking, prepare and monitor budgets, and provide financial reports to the PAC Executive and parent community throughout the year.
Secretary Cathy Caputo firstname.lastname@example.org The Secretary prepares minutes of all PAC and Executive Committee meetings, prepares agenda and documentation for meetings, and maintains the records of the PAC.
Social & Fundraising Team Lisa Maihara (Fundraising) Carissa Boudreau (Social) The Social & Fundraising Team plan and execute fundraising events and partnerships throughout the school year to support PAC fundraising goals, research sources of fundraising and grants, and work with the social committee to plan and organize events, The team also plans and executes social events throughout the year to foster community and connection among Canyon Heights families.
Communications Coordinator Allison Johnson email@example.com The Communications Coordinator maintains the PAC website, creates content for publication in school and PAC newsletters/websites, coordinates with school administration and PAC members to provide information to the parent community, and manages parent and class rep email lists. The Coordinator also participates in preparing weekly email updates from the PAC.
Hot Lunch Coordinator Velda Williams firstname.lastname@example.org The Hot Lunch Coordinator oversees the Hot Lunch program, including choosing and ordering from vendors, setting prices, setting up online ordering system, coordinating weekly Hot Lunch and student volunteers, communicating with parents as needed, arranging for online ordering for fundraising events, and running reports. Lunches offered must meet the guidelines outlined in the BC Ministry of Education code.
Safety Coordinator Kulvir Mann email@example.com Parham Tavakoli firstname.lastname@example.org The Safety Coordinators support safety initiatives in the school by helping with emergency planning, advising on safety concerns, and promoting parent involvement in safety programs at school. They work with staff and administration, organize comfort kits and emergency grab-and-go bags.
Parent Education Coordinator Lynnel Reinson email@example.com The Parent Education Coordinator plans and organizes 1-2 parent education seminars and 1-2 speakers for PAC meetings per year. The Coordinator identifies and notifies families about other parent education resources and events occurring nearby.
District PAC Representative Open The DPAC Representative represents the school at District PAC meetings and reports District PAC activities to our parent community. This can be a shared position. Elected for a one-year term by secret ballot at the PAC Annual General Meeting.
Volunteer Coordinator Open The Volunteer Coordinator communicates volunteer opportunities to the parent community, maintains a list of volunteer jobs available at the school, and maintains a list of parents interested in volunteering. They also coordinate placement of volunteers for PAC events.
Welcome Coordinator Open The Welcome Coordinator welcomes new families to the school throughout the year, acts as a contact person to answer questions and help families integrate into the community, and arranges the new family welcome tea in September.
